Nuclear Medicine Nuclear Medicine department is well established and equipped with two latest state of the art SPECT / CT Gamma cameras, used for the diagnosis of diseases of thyroid, bone, brain, lung, heart, kidney, liver, hepatobiliary system, breast, venous system, salivary gland, Meckel's diverticulum and nasolacrimal duct etc. Renal scan is unique in the sense that it not only tell about total renal function but also give information about the contribution of each kidney to total renal function, and this information is very helpful for surgeons to plan type of surgery. Bone scan not only help in the diagnosis of infection, tumor and injury to the bones, it helps in the diagnosis of joint problems. It is very helpful in the survey of whole skeleton for spread of cancer to bones. Nuclear Cardiology Section is well established with latest equipments to perform a variety oif non-invasive cardiovascular imaging studies for the detection of coronary artery disease and viability of myocardium. Thyroid Clinic is providing treatment for different thyroid diseases and offering the facility of radioactive iodine I-131 treatment to the patients of hyperthyrodisim and thyroid cancer patients.
