Nuclear Medicine Nuclear Medicine department is well established and equipped with two latest state of the art SPECT / CT Gamma cameras, used for the diagnosis of diseases of thyroid, bone, brain, lung, heart, kidney, liver, hepatobiliary system, breast, venous system, salivary gland, Meckel's diverticulum and nasolacrimal duct etc. Renal scan is unique in the sense that it not only tell about total renal function but also give information about the contribution of each kidney to total renal function, and this information is very helpful for surgeons to plan type of surgery. Bone scan not only help in the diagnosis of infection, tumor and injury to the bones, it helps in the diagnosis of joint problems. It is very helpful in the survey of whole skeleton for spread of cancer to bones. Nuclear Cardiology Section is well established with latest equipments to perform a variety oif non-invasive cardiovascular imaging studies for the detection of coronary artery disease and viability of myocardium. Thyroid Clinic is providing treatment for different thyroid diseases and offering the facility of radioactive iodine I-131 treatment to the patients of hyperthyrodisim and thyroid cancer patients.

Department is furnished with cutting-edge equipment, currently housing two Ultrasound machines, one digital x-ray Unit, and two digital mammography systems. Established in 2006, the Oncology department has now become the hospital's most bustling unit. The rapid spread of Hepatitis B and C has become a major concern nationwide, particularly in the region of Faisalabad. Addressing the pressing needs of the people, PINUM established a Molecular Diagnostic Center (Polymerase chain reaction) in 2006, aligning with international standards of quality assurance and professional practice. Since its inception, the lab has been steadfast in providing top-notch and cost-effective molecular testing services to the residents of Faisalabad. In 2017, a fully automated PCR system was installed at PCR Lab PINUM, resulting in reduced reporting time and enhanced accuracy. Thanks to the integration of Hospital Management Information System (HMIS), the likelihood of human errors has been minimized through electronic transmission of result data from instruments to patients. The significance of PCR lies in its ability to directly detect the virus, setting it apart from other techniques that rely on detecting antibodies like ELISA, RIBA, and IRMA. Given its high sensitivity, PCR can detect infections much earlier, even before symptoms manifest, offering physicians a crucial head start in treatment planning. Moreover, PCR-based assays for infectious diseases boast excellent specificity, surpassing 98%, ensuring accurate and reliable results for patient care. Cancer is complex disease with variable presentation and outcomes thus requires multidisciplinary approach for prevention, early detection and better management. The field of oncology is gradually shifting from “one size fits all” approach towards personalize medicine based on genetic variants. The role of cancer genomics is increasing steadily for prevention, early detection and better patient’s management. Furthermore, rate of inherited cancers is higher in countries with consanguineous marriages and Pakistan is no exception. The genetic architecture varies across populations and every country retains particular cancer disposition spectrum. The state of art lab is established to promote multidisciplinary cancer research at PINUM to investigate inherited cancer dispositions and to establish diagnostic services for targeted therapies. The Biomedics and Engineering Division at PINUM plays a crucial role in ensuring the seamless operation of all physical systems within the hospital. This division comprises various sections, including IT, Electrical and Electronics, Mechanical, HVAC, and CIVIL Works, all dedicated to effectively maintaining the hospital infrastructure. With a team of 15 skilled employees, including 4 officers, the division is under the capable leadership of its Head, Muhammad Shahbaz, PS. The Electrical and Electronics section tirelessly oversees the maintenance of the hospital's electrical power system and diagnostic equipment, such as SPECT/CTs, Mammography, DEXA, Ultrasounds, X-Ray, CR-System, and a wide array of lab equipment and instruments. On the other hand, the Mechanical section handles both minor maintenance tasks and major installations of mechanical structures. Additionally, this section collaborates with Electrical and Electronics to ensure the proper upkeep of two diesel generators. The HVAC section is responsible for the maintenance of all HVAC systems within the hospital. With in-house repair and maintenance capabilities, the HVAC team efficiently manages approximately 150 units of ACs, refrigerators, and cool cabinets, ensuring optimal functionality. The CIVIL works section of BM&E is actively involved in various construction projects, repairs, renovations, and re-layouting within PINUM. Notably, the recent achievements of this section include the remarkable construction of C-Block, the new parking area, and exterior front elevation works.
